How does Aerolase Work?

Aerolase is an effective and gentle for the treatment of melasma due to its ability to target both epidermal and dermal pigment deposits without compromising the integrity of skin. Laser energy targets existing melasma and disrupts excessive future melanin synthesis.

Does the treatment hurt?

Aerolase is a virtually painless treatment. There is a warm sensation over the areas being treated with the laser. There is no numbing required.

What does the treatment entail?

After the skin is cleaned and sterilized, the laser energy is applied to the targeted areas. Depending on the size of the area(s) treated, treatment time may vary between 10-20 minutes.

How many treatments will I need to see results?

Many patients see results immediately after even a single treatment and further improvement will be noticeable following subsequent treatments. On average 3-6 treatments are recommended.

What can I expect after the treatment?

There is no significant downtime associated with the treatment and you will be able to resume normal activities following the treatment.

Are there any limitations following the Aerolase treatment?

We ask you to apply SPF immediately following treatment to keep your skin UV protected. You should also refrain from using any products with alpha- and beta-hydroxyacids and/or retinoils for 4-5 days post treatment depending on your skin sensitivity.

Is Aerolase right for me?

Patients who have stubborn melasma and/or other noticeable pigmentary changes to their skin are excellent candidates for Aerolase.
